During Treatment

  • No downtime: The procedure takes 10–15 minutes.
  • Minimal discomfort: Injections are tiny and quick.
  • No anesthesia or numbing cream is typically needed, though it may be used for sensitive areas.

Post-Treatment

  • Avoid touching/pressing the treated area for 4–6 hours to prevent spreading the product.
  • Do not lie down for 4 hours or engage in intense exercise for 24 hours.
  • Apply ice to the treated area if swelling occurs.
  • Avoid alcohol, blood thinners, and NSAIDs for 24–48 hours.
  • Do not massage the face for 24–48 hours.
  • Avoid heavy makeup for 4–6 hours (if using Botox or Jeuveau).

Dermal Fillers

Pre-Treatment

  • Avoid alcohol, blood thinners, and NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen), vitamin E, and fish oil 24–48 hours before your appointment.
  • Stop using topical retinoids, acne treatments, or exfoliants 7–10 days prior to reduce the risk of irritation.
  • Avoid heavy meals 1–2 hours before your session to reduce nausea.
  • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin to ensure optimal filler placement.
  • Inform your provider of any medical conditions, medications, or allergies.

During Treatment

  • No downtime: The procedure takes approximately 20 minutes to numb the area, followed by 15–30 minutes of treatment.
  • Minimal discomfort: A numbing cream or topical anesthetic may be used for sensitive areas.
  • Avoid touching/pressing the treated area during the session to prevent uneven distribution.

Post-Treatment

  • Avoid touching, pressing, or massaging the treated area for 4–6 hours to prevent filler displacement.
  • Do not lie down for 4 hours or engage in intense exercise for 2,4 hours.
  • Apply ice to the treated area if swelling occurs.
  • Avoid alcohol, blood thinners, and NSAIDs for 24–48 hours to reduce bruising.
  • Avoid heavy makeup or skincare products for 4–6 hours (if using hyaluronic acid fillers).
  • Use gentle cleansers and moisturizers to keep the skin calm and hydrated.
  • Sculptra Only:
    • Initial swelling is normal for first 24 hours and will go down after the 1st week.
    • Massage face for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days.
    • Avoid apply ice packs as we want an inflammatory response.
    • Avoid exercise, sun exposure, UV lamps, tanning beds and extreme temperatures.
    • No makeup for the first 24 hours.
    • Bleeding, tenderness, and redness can last up to 2 weeks.

When to Contact Your Provider

  • If you experience severe bruising, swelling, or redness that doesn’t improve within 24–48 hours.
  • If you develop a fever, infection, or unusual pain.
  • Note: Lumps, bumps, and asymmetry are normal in the treated area for up to 2 weeks. Results are immediate and last 6–12 months (depending on the filler type).
  • Follow-up appointments are recommended to maintain your desired look.
